We know Flights to Europe can look insane so here's our tips for finding the super deals. We realize these tips might not be plausible for everyone so if they dont work or are more of hassle for you ignore them. These just help us cut our cost significantly going to Europe. I will also be sending out cheap routes around the wedding I find. Its important to note June is high season for Europe so prices can be high. We totally understand this is a crazy place to get married so please do not feel bad if you can not make it. We know this is a long shot! But if you can heres some tips we use for saving money on air fare.
1. Book from a Major City ORD or JFK
If you fly from STL you're typically going to be paying 1500 + and even more in June. Taking it from Chicago cuts the price in half and its a cheap train ride or easy flight away. Another favorite option of ours is to fly to NYC and then fly a non stop to Europe from there. Colin and I have gotten those for as low at 300 round trip out of JFK!! Or about 220 one way. We typically will fly Southwest to LGA (around $130)So our one way to Europe is 350 and we have more flexibility where we fly in and out of instead of doing a round trip . Getting from LGA to JFK takes about an hour so make sure to give yourself plenty of time or stop a night and do NYC.
2. Be open to cities you fly into.
My favorite flight feature is google.com/flights Go to the Explore options and look one way options from nyc to Europe. No citiy in particular, you will get a good idea of the cheapest routes and days to fly For example getting to Paris is always really cheap. And who doesnt want a day or two in Paris? Then hopping from Paris to Rome can be as low as 50 dollars. If you find flights then build your itneirary around the cheap flight you can save a lot of money.

3. Credit Card Points
Fun fact Colin and I havent paid for a single flight since 2020 thanks to credit card points. The best flexible bonus travel card I have found is Chase Saphire Reserve or Preferred. The 60,000 bonus points offer should be able to get you multiple round trip Europe flights and some hotels if you book smart! I have an annoying amount of tips and info on this kind of stuff if anybody is actually interested or curious feel free to reach out I would love to help answer any questions about rewards!
